History of Plymouth Ambulance Service

Plymouth Ambulance Service has been providing emergency medical services to the City of Plymouth and Surrounding areas for over twenty years. On April 1, 1984, Plymouth Ambulance Service was started as a Basic Life Support ambulance after Wittkopp Ambulance decided to pull out of the ambulance industry. At the time, two ambulances serviced a 200 square mile service area  had a call volume of 600 and 33 on-call EMTs.

Today, Plymouth Ambulance Service provides pre-hospital Paramedic level care. Currently we operate four Advance Life Support ambulances that service the Northwestern section of Sheboygan County. This area covers 244 square miles, including the City of Plymouth; Townships of Greenbush, Lyndon, Mitchell, and Plymouth; Villages of Cascade, Elkhart Lake, Greenbush, Glenbeulah, and Waldo; also portions of the Townships of Herman, Lima, Rhine, Russell, and Sheboygan Falls.

Plymouth Ambulance Service responds to over 1300 incidents a year. We are a combination service utilizing fulltime and on call EMTs of all levels.

Plymouth Ambulance Service, Inc. is a non-profit organization and operates solely on the money received from transported patients and donations.
